To start off, due to the weird winter there hasn’t been that much snow around but the riding has been sensational and with the 3rd base trail at Christchurch Adventure Park getting a recent revamp Brent and I teamed up to film a little insta edit for them, check it out below:
We did however manage to get out for the days that Ullr delivered and we actually received some snow, which were few and far between and in typical New Zealand fashion you had to work hard for to get, check out a little gallery of the winter below.
And last but not least as the dirt has been epic throughout the winter check out a little bike gallery below:
The ski season here in in NZ, specifically Canterbury has not started with a bang. We have however managed to get out for a few days in some variable early season conditions, couple of snaps from those early missions below. Either time to head further south where thew snow is looking better or keep up the snow dancing and hope for some freshies.
Also a quick POV video of possibly my favourite MTB track from a few weeks back before we had any snow at all!
Well 2020 its been a weird one, between pandemics, lockdowns, work and family I haven’t really managed to get out and do anything adventurous. So I thought I would least get a post up and add a few photos that I have managed to take over the last few months. A quick post lockdown mission to Craigieburn and ChCh Adventure park before the weather cancelled riding for the season. And a couple of shots from earlier in the year at Skyline in Queenstown. So many tables haha!
Here is a sweet gallery of unused shots from over the last year. Enjoy!
This is going to be a short and sweet update as I am running low on energy this week. Here is a little shred-it I filmed for Loose Riders NZ on the Gopro Hero 7. Plus a little gallery of landscape shots from where I’ve been shooting for my next projects.
Keep an eye out for some new content to drop in the next couple of weeks – have been shooting a tonne for some magazine and other projects that I can’t release just yet. And got a few more exciting ones coming up after that!
Well I have been on holiday in the USA doing some sightseeing and skiing around places that I have wanted to tick off the bucket list for a long time. So most of this update will be some personal imagery from my travels and a few mtb bits and pieces from before I left.
First up we went to McGazzafest in January which is always one of the best times on a bike in NZ. If you haven’t before go and check out the Kelly McGarry Foundation and see how they are continuing to keep the big mans legacy going and supporting NZ biking. Check out the Mcgazzalanche mass start race below.
Next up was some chill time in Hawaii, you can check a gallery of shots below, mainly sunsets and landscape.
Next up was some skiing in the states, got to check out some pretty rad spots. I didn’t really have my camera out much except for some occasional landscape shots and the only sunshine day where we managed to get out for a tour in the backcountry behind Alta.
And last but not least a shot from up Mt Lyndon from a bike mission earlier in the year that never found a home! Im back from relaxing so keep an eye out for a pile of new content to come out soon!
We have been hooked up by the kind people at GoPro with a swish Hero 7 GoPro to giveaway to an up and coming creative.. Check out the video below on how to enter into the comp:
October 2018
As usual it has been a while since I have posted but the last few months have been hectic including the day job and trying to fit in as many adventures as I can around it while even trying to retain some family life as well.. Too many hobbies and not enough time.
Ski Season is almost over and slowly transitioning back into bikes but before that happened we tried to tick off a few skiing missions we had had planned for a while. One was to head up Mt Sibbald in behind Tekapo in NZ.
We four wheel drove up the Macauley valley and walked to our campsite then toured up and got some nice shaded wind-blown powder!
Amazing mission in some amazing country – and there are a couple more images below from some other miscellaneous missions around the Canterbury Club fields and Queenstown for your viewing pleasure
And finally just a little video testing out the GoPro Hero 7 – the hyper smooth function is amazing No more gimbal needed which cuts down on the gear I need to carry. Check out the video below , riding the new tracks at the Christchurch Adventure park.
Its been a bit slow on the updates as I have been doing some different commercial work which I can’t post yet! In the meantime here are some shots from a few sunrise missions we have been on to snag some NZ powder goods. Mt Olympus aka the playground of the gods put it on for an epic powder day.
Bit of a test of the Peak Designs Capture Plate while enjoying the snow at Mt Olympus.
Checking out the recently revamped step up at the local bikes trails when they were finally dry enough to ride, I got the flashes out and took a couple of MTB shots. Was good to get some external lighting out as I haven’t shot that style of photo for a while.
