Camp Spot Macauley Valley

As usual it has been a while since I have posted but the last few months have been hectic including the day job and trying to fit in as many adventures as I can around it while even trying to retain some family life as well.. Too many hobbies and not enough time.

Ski Season is almost over and slowly transitioning back into bikes but before that happened we tried to tick off a few skiing missions we had had planned for a while. One was to head up Mt Sibbald in behind Tekapo in NZ.

Starting the Tour

We four wheel drove up the Macauley valley and walked to our campsite then toured up and got some nice shaded wind-blown powder!

Cutting some turns

Amazing mission in some amazing country – and there are a couple more images below from some other miscellaneous missions around the Canterbury Club fields and Queenstown for your viewing pleasure

And finally just a little video testing out the GoPro Hero 7 – the hyper smooth function is amazing No more gimbal needed which cuts down on the gear I need to carry. Check out the video below , riding the new tracks at the Christchurch Adventure park.

May Update

Its been a month or so since we last posted but we have had a busy month and the weather is starting to change to winter here in NZ so the bike content will slow down for a bit.

Major project for the month was filming a new video for the Christchurch Adventure Park to showcase how much of an epic spot they have there!

Check it out below:

We also went and shot a pile of photos up there as my bike has been broken!

Check them out below:

Last but not least as I mentioned earlier in this post the weather is changing and winter is kicking in, so we ventured out for a look and got some powdery goodness. There is only one photo from the day as it was to good to stop but check it below:

Winter Hits Again

Well its been a while since I have posted, the old day job has been getting in the way and we have been stuck in a little bit of limbo with the weather, hasn’t really been summer or winter. However this last weekend winter struck back with a vengeance and we had possibly the best 3 days skiing I have ever had in NZ. Check out some of the photos below from Craigieburn on the Sunday.

I got a bit too involved for the first couple of days of the storm before I pulled the camera out! Enjoy!

One Run Down The Tarn

I thought I would give my new Loose Riders beanie a good test and headed up to Mt Cheeseman Ski Area on Saturday after the decent storm that rolled through. It definitely kept my head warm! Check out one run down the Tarn in some Christchurch & Canterbury NZ freshies, click HD… Licence to Chill… And you can check the beanies here: https://www.looseriders.co.nz/coll…/…/products/pom-pom-black

Ohau Opening Weekend

The weather has been a bit hit and miss in ChCh lately and mostly too wet to ride bikes, but there was a storm that came through and heaved some fresh pow on Lake Ohau Lodge and Ohau Snow Fields so we headed up there for opening weekend and smashed some laps and made this little instavid, which you can check below as well as a couple of photos from the mission. Ohau is off to a banger start with 7ocms falling over the course of 24 hours so if your looknig for a place to ski head there this week.

Winter 2016

NZ got off to a slow start this year after the epic storm we had in May. Here is a few photos from across the last couple of months of the New Zealand winter.
